A little bit of my childhood

Does anybody else remember the old read along adventure books back from the early 1980's? I just came upon an article on the internet about the Indiana Jones ones, and it brought back some very happy memories for me. Back when I was a litte boy, (yes I was little at one time) I used to spend hours on end at my Nana and Grandaddy's house litsening to those tapes and reading along with the books. Reading over the article I remembered that among the rather decent library of books that my granparents had were Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Temple of Doom. Also among those books were Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi along with many Disney and I belive Muppett stories. I trace my love of reading to these adventures more than any other reason for it. I cherish those memories and hope that one day I can provide them to my children as well.

Do you remember those "choose your own adventure" books? I remember reading those again and again...picking different actions to see how the story would play out.

I don't think I ever had one of those. I wasn't much of a reader though. Maybe I would have been had I owned one of those. ;) I did like being read to though. :D

what about the Star Wars one where C-3PO and R2-D2 saved the slave droids? Do you remember that one?

Well, in the 80's I was in high school. Ugh, I feel really old right now. I didn't have those books, sorry. Maybe that's why I don't read as much as I should! :)

You know what I don't like about this blogspot? I'm gonna tell you right now... you can't reply to people's comments. :( That's very sad to me. I can't eat or drink because of it. It's making me feel like an incomplete blogger(can you tell I'm being over dramatic here? it's what I do.) :D

hmmm, I think I'm bored, otherwise I probably wouldn't be commenting about not being able to comment. :D
